TikTok is working on avatars, live audio streams, new creator tools and more

Bitmoji-like animated characters, query filtering for the For You Page, chatrooms, sound livestreams, screen sharing on livestreams, and Twitch-like premium service design, that would enable creators to create subscription service emoticons and subscription service comment sections, are among the unique updates TikTok is working on. Matt Navarra, a media analyzer, identified these features and functionalities.

These rumors should not be taken seriously; all because TikTok is experimenting with an unique concept doesn't guarantee it will be implemented in the app. However, adding features might sometimes reveal information about a platform's future goals.

"We're constantly exploring about unique methods to increase the TikTok performance and create value to our audience," a TikTok representative told TechCrunch. The remarked that all these tools are being examined, but stressed that when TikTok tests out new concepts, the purpose is to obtain user input - the final functionality (if it is launched publicly) could look completely different what we're seeing in leaks.

Some of the reported features, such as premium creator memberships, have previously been deployed openly in some manner. Subscriber-only flairs and comment threads, which are straight from Twitch, would fit into the narrative of another TikTok experiment: TikTok Live Studio, a desktop streaming program.

TikTok has indeed announced the search term filter function, which is akin to Twitter's silenced word function, as part of the continuing effort to improve the For You Page.

In a December article, TikTok stated, "We're working on a tool that will enable consumers select terms or hashtags connected with stuff they don't need in their For You feeds."

Other reported concepts, such as emoticons and sound webcasts, allude to new possibilities for TikTok's growth. Why not start to focus (somewhat late) on demand in video stream if they can broadcast video? It's also past time for TikTok to allow us to send group messages.
